Method
- Preheat oven to 200 °C (or prepare hot campfire coals).
- Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Make a well and pour in milk.
- Mix gently with a flat-bladed knife until a soft dough forms.
- Turn onto a floured surface and shape into a round loaf.
- Place on a lined tray and bake 25–30 minutes until golden and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Serve warm with butter and a drizzle of golden syrup.
